The BCMA’s activities are focused on providing a forum in which its members can discuss and exchange non-competitive information for the benefit and mutual success of its members and the industry.

The BCMA holds several meetings throughout the year. The meetings aim to provide a forum in which its members can discuss and exchange non-competitive information for the benefit and mutual success of its members and the industry.

Guest Speakers

The BCMA welcomes guest speakers to its meetings. It aims to have one or two speakers at each meeting who can speak on subjects currently relevant to the industry, to give members insight or background knowledge on those issues. Speakers are also welcome from organisations who would like to develop business relationships with member companies, this can range from training providers to potential material or service providers etc. If you are in an organisation that wishes to develop business with BCMA members please contact the Chairman.

Quarterly Statistics

The BCMA quarterly statistics provide reliable prompt quarterly summaries of the market status. (Membership requires members to participate in the provision of quarterly statistics). The quarterly summaries enable members to compare their own performance to that of their peer group. Members consider the quarterly statistics vital and value them highly. The statistics are only available to members.

Annual Market Assessment

The quarterly statistics are also used to help assess the market annually. Members use the market assessment to review their own market development and strategy, and to review the quality of commercially available market reports. The annual market assessment is only available to members.

Member Market Reviews

Market conditions and dynamics are extremely important to the members and the sharing of non confidential data is an important part of the associations mission. Members consider this to be a very helpful status check on their own company’s experience.

General Discussion

The BCMA provides a formal forum for members to have formal discussions on matters affecting the industry, such as HR regulation, counterfeit product, training, company cars, payment terms, standards, waste material regulation, etc., and to decide any action or position the industry wishes to adopt with regard to that matter.

The BCMA is the perfect forum for members to meet and exchange views on issues surrounding the industry. It is also an ideal opportunity to explore mutual business opportunities on key projects.

The networking, general discussion and market reviews can often lead to collaboration between member companies to their mutual benefit.

Technical Standards

The BCMA has seats on the appropriate BSI standards committees and therefore has advanced information about possible proposed changes to established standards or the setting of new technical standards and is thus able to influence the setting of those standards
